Enhancing the Innovation Capacity of Seafood Business – The Role of Higher Education ?

The InTerAct consortium invites Students, Industries and Academia to participate in a symposium on 31st January 2014 at DTU Technical University of Denmark,  Meeting Center B101, S01, 10h-13h

Invitation and Agenda: InTerAct Symposium, January31 2014 – Agenda

Results from surveys revealed how the seafood sector is perceived differently by the general public in the Nordic countries and Canada. Student surveys indicated that they were interested  in topics related to sustainability, innovation and healthy food.

The internal image of the industry was described as dynamic and innovative while the perception of the external image was diverse.  The sector offers good job opportunities, however, the interaction between Industry and Academia needs to be enhanced to ensure that qualified young graduates will look for future career in the aquatic food sector.

Based on the overall findings from the project, the image of the seafood sector was reshaped and this is presented in the new AQFood image video and a series of interview videos describing job opportunities and what is unique about the AQFood master program.  The vision is that this image will  influence students´choices when selecting higher level education and ultimately this will boost the innovation capacity of the aquatic food businesses.

Find out more about the results by attending the symposium.
